Summary

The MRI Technologist is fully competent to perform all MRI routine procedures for the diagnostic treatment of specified diseases or conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• ARRT Registered or a Graduate from an Associate in Applied Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), required. Any applicant not registered as an ARRT in MRI must provide documentation of application with the ARRT to sit for the MRI registry. Registered in MRI with the ARRT is required post one (1) year of hiring date. Failure to achieve registration post one (1) year will result in termination of employment. AHA CPR provided by Cape Fear Valley Training and Development required at orientation and maintained. 
• One to two years experience preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and understands the range of treatment needed for all age groups. Provide care based on the patient’s developmental need.
• Experienced in the treatment/care of and interacts effectively with patients of all ages to include neo-natal, newborns, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
• Role may involve skin, eye, or mucous membrane contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.
• Must be able to communicate orally.
• Must have manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Must possess the mobility to assume awkward positions and respond to emergency situations.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to bend and lift.
